Daniel Boone was a frontier man extraordinaire. He is the stuff of legends. I remember hearing about him going out on his own on extended camping/hunting expeditions at the age of 12! I can’t image my sons doing anything of the sort!

I think part of the reason Daniel Boone and his counterpart Davy Crockett are so well know is the Disney TV series and the NBC TV series. Of course these are not necessarily historically accurate. Here’s a clip of Fess Parker, star of both shows.
