Last year I was challenged to do facebook live videos and after reaching my goal I challenged myself to do a 12 Days of Christmas Quiet Doll version. Here’s what I created and it even had a matching video:
- A Baby in a Manger
- 2 Little Lambs
- 3 Wise men
- 4 Evergreens
- 5 Heavenly Hosts
- 6 Shepherds Gazing
- 7 Dancing Daughters
- 8 Merry Minstrels
- 9 Cavorting Carolers
- 10 Jolly Jugglers
- 11 Awesome Snowmen
- 12 Jingle bells
One thing missing from this wonderful Christmas vignette was Mary and Joseph… and a camel but that’s beside the point. This year I made sure I had patterns for both Mary and Joseph so we would have a full nativity scene.
Mary amazes me. She had the faith to step out of her comfort zone and accept the extremely challenging mission of bearing the Savior of the world and raising him appropriately. This was in a time when women were judged very strictly on their virtue. Thank goodness that Joseph loved her and after an angelic visitation, (Matthew 1:20) also embraced his role as her husband despite her newfound very unexpected pregnancy.
always, Vickie
