Decided I’d better do this early in the week due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. I was pondering who to choose and Wonder Woman popped into my mind, mainly because who isn’t a wonder woman as they deal with life and holidays and meals and housework and family and children and husbands and everything life is throwing at you right now.
Lynda Carter is the Wonder Woman who I remember from my childhood. I liked the new Wonder Woman movie, saw it for my daughter’s Senior Party at Fat Cats in Rexburg, ID. It was kind of a cool deal as they do a lock-in and have access to all the activities and pizza, etc. (pretty fun chaperone gig).
Since we’re doing real people only this year, back to Lynda. She was born in July 1951, still alive and performing concerts. I never knew she was a musical performer! I also didn’t know she was the 1972 Miss World USA! I did remember seeing her in Maybelline makeup commercials and she also did one for 7up with Don Rickles. Over the years she’d continued to show up in the limelight be it on the Muppets or Disney’s Sky High as the principal.
Lynda’s character Wonder Woman gave a lot of little girls hope for being whatever they wanted to be and she’s accepted that she will always be “Wonder Woman”.
So this Thanksgiving weekend, celebrate and feast and give yourselves a pat on the back for being the wonderful amazing person you are!
always, Vickie
