Count Down Mermaids for Christmas Kickstarter Day 6

Today started early but late. I’ve been helping babysit my grandbaby. Typically she’d be fast asleep but she’s been sick. Up at 5 am not so bright eyed and bushy tailed, she decided she was hungry since she barely ate or drank anything yesterday. She managed to drink a bit of milk and nibble a bit of graham cracker. Then vegged out on her kindle. I was in charge of procuring food as requested and tucking and untucking, snuggling just for a bit, and mainly supervising. She didn’t drop off to sleep until her mom got back and I managed to grab another hour of sleep and then a shower.

After all that we headed out to pick up a prescription. Now I could only order from one pharmacy as I found out someone ran out of pills and it was Labor Day. The computer said it would be ready the next morning and since we already had a doctor appointment an hour away in the same town I put in the order. On the way to the doctor we stopped by and found out the pills were out of stock. Good thing it wasn’t an emergency. The pills arrived two days ago. Today we planned to pick them up and run a few errands. Picked them up at Walgreens. FYI they have Reese’s peanut butter cups on sale for $1.99 a bag for Halloween. I also picked up a couple of marked down stocking stuffers at 90% off. I didn’t get any because they’d melted while we did errands since it’s 80 degrees out, but I might be headed back.

John, my husband, isn’t much for running a lot of errands but we did go to Walmart to look for a flexible cutting board I need for a project- they only had packs with several. John found a couple of button up shirts, I got a new mascara-that’s a big deal for me as I’m not much of a make up girl. I also got silver Sharpie markers since I couldn’t find any in town. Every where we went I handed out business cards to women with kids and grandkids. It was nice to get gas at Walmart $3.94 a gallon.

Stopped at The Family Dollar and they also didn’t have the flexible cutting boards, but I did find some nice clearance stocking stuffers. Quick stop at Winco for things we can’t find in town.

Once we got back home I called up Jason at Mountain view Millworks. I drove out and dropped off laser order. Just needed a couple of prices in case I end up needing his help to get the mermaids delivered on time for Christmas. Here’s the order I dropped off.

I’m so grateful for his help as I have no desire to actually learn or own a laser machine at this time! They are super handy but where would I even put one!

Dinner was BBQ pulled pork out of the Sunday leftovers on homemade sourdough rolls. Watched an episode of One Piece with John. Too violent for grandbaby but it’s got a super fun quirky flavor and doesn’t drop the F bomb every 5 minutes. Now to listen to the 48 days Challenge Earl Nightingale’s The Strangest Secret and do my Duolingo. Night all!

Always,

Vickie
